Photo Exhibition to cover 2nd anniversary of most fierce battles in Donetsk airport and adjacent territories

More than 100 photos that cover the events that broke out when defending Donetsk Airport during 2014-2015 were featured in the exhibition.

On 19 January 2017, on the initiative of the Association of ATO Veterans of Ukraine and with the support of the Committee on Affairs of Veterans, Combatants, ATO Participants, and Disabled People a photo exhibition dedicated to the second anniversary of the most fierce battles in Donetsk Airport and the adjacent territories was held on the sidelines of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

More than 100 photos that cover the events that broke out when defending Donetsk Airport during 2014-2015 were featured in the exhibition.

The collection was created by Ruslan Borovyk, cyborg codenamed “Bahdad”, grenade launcher operator of 90th separate air assault battalion.

Having visited the exhibition Oleksandr Tretiakov, the Head of the Committee on Affairs of Veterans, Combatants, ATO Participants, and Disabled People stated: “These photos transmit the intensity of all those emotions which our soldiers had on the frontline. They depict the heroism of our warriors, among whom are those who laid down their lives for Ukraine, and remind us that they perform their duty devotedly defending our country, and we must continuously protect and develop our country and giving support to its defenders and their families.”

Glib Zagoriy, the member of the Committee added: “Quality of photos is amazing. The author managed to recapture all those emotions that were experienced by our soldiers: trouble, joy, pain. Now we are witnessing the life history of people who will inspire our descendants. That is why we have to hold the memory of people who laid their life for Ukraine”.
