Glib Zagoriy announced the “Book of the Year 2018” winner in the nomination “Horizons”

“I am proud that Ukraine has infiltrated into the global system of knowledge,” he said in his speech.

The milestone 20th award ceremony of the winners of all-Ukrainian ranking “Book of the Year” took place on Feb.8 in Ukrainian House in Kyiv with the attendance of Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko and Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko.

Glib Zagoriy announced the winner of the ranking in the nomination “Horizons” – the book “The Secrets of Civilization” by Vivat publishing house.

“I am proud that Ukraine has infiltrated into the global system of knowledge. Our publishing industry is on the rise. More and more decent translations of the business literature by the authors from all over the world appear on bookshelves. And I am talking about Ukrainian translations – something that would have been hard to imagine a few years ago,” Zagoriy said in his speech.

Among other books, winners of the competition: In the nomination “Past” – «Terra Ucrainica”, “Historical Atlas of Ukraine and neighboring lands”.

In the nomination “Research and Documents”: “History, geopolitics and geography” by Stepan Rudnytskiy.

In the nomination “Biographies and memoirs”: “Many-faced Mykola Kostomarov” by Oleksiy Yashch.

In the category “Sophia”: “The Philosophy of Freedom” by Myroslav Popovych.

In the category “Political Science and Sociology”: “The current ideologies. Ideas and politics of XIX-XX century Europe” by Volodymyr Yermolenko.

“We are creating the cultural heritage for the upcoming generations today. Judging by the quality of these days literature, I can say without a doubt that our state is flourishing,” Glib Zagoriy said after the ceremony.
