Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine hosts selling exhibition of artworks by persons with disabilities

On December 6, a selling exhibition of artworks and pieces of fine art created by persons with disabilities, including disabled children, was held in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

The exhibition was organized by All-Ukrainian Public Association “National Assembly of Persons with Disabilities of Ukraine” with support of the parliamentary Committee on Affairs of Veterans, Combatants, ATO Participants, and Disabled People. Its participants arrived to the capital from all over Ukraine – from Donetsk to Chernivtsi Regions, and have represented in total hundreds of various pieces of art: embroidery, paintings, clothes, décor, adornments. Diversity goods created by talented craftsmen could fit every taste. The event arose a keen interest, and from early morning the craftsmen were surrounded by crowds of enthusiasts and buyers. The most active were Oleksandr Tretiakov, the Head of the Committee of Verhovna Rada of Ukraine on Affairs of Veterans, Combatants, ATO Participants, and Disabled People, Maksym Burbak and Glib Zagoriy, the members of the Committee.

The exhibition that has been held for the second time now is a part of consistent work of parliamentary Committee on Affairs of Veterans, Combatants, ATO Participants, and Disabled People. In particular the exhibition is aimed at informing public of the talents of persons with special needs and draw officials’ attention to their problems. The Committee plans to further promote such events.
